Cherries Headed for Los Angeles and San Diego

A carload daily of Black Tari tarian cherries ships from Hayward to Los Angeles and San Diego and points south. Each car holds more than five hundred thirty pound boxes of premium fruit from southern Alameda county orchards. The perishable crop requires fast express shipping to avoid market risk, with rains lowering resistance and hastening disposal after picking. The daily carload average has held for ten days, with shipments ending at week’s end as Royal Annes soon appear.
