An accident Saturday morning on Dublin Canyon left three people bruised but not seriously injured. J R Barnes of Oakland rode a motorcycle that collided with a car carrying Miss Anna Shader and R C Buckley. All were treated at Hayward General Hospital.
Dr. Frederick Brown of Hayward found his car damaged on a business street with a note from a woman signed only as a lady. The note offered to make good the damage, and Brown called the incident an example of honesty in the world.
Frank Alviso of Niles reports a radiator cap blew off while driving in San Leandro. He leaped from the car, tripped, and fractured two ribs as the vehicle continued with no driver. The car sustained minor damage.
Hayward civic leaders from Federated Improvement Clubs and supportive chambers of commerce consider a three to five day celebration to mark the city’s seventy five years since founding. Early start urged to maximize impact as other groups pledge involvement. Mr and Mrs Frank Pereria and their son returned from Los Angeles where they vacationed. Mrs Pereria fell ill prompting return. The family plans to travel south again this Sunday.
Stebbins Brothers announce a grand opening for a new automobile home in Hayward on August 1. William N. Stebbins says the modern, fireproof cement building on Auto Row will showcase up-to-date automotive service facilities and serve the people of Hayward. The plant, constructed by James Williamson, is designed for safety and efficiency with a large, well equipped showroom and service area.
San Lorenzo Woodmen of the World conduct a series of examinations on Sundays at H. H. Gansberg picnic grounds on Roberts Landing Road to select the best horseshoe team for a major meet. Visitors include Mrs. C. O. Clark with sister Mrs. Gallaher and Miss Myrtle Harrington of Selma, plus Clarence Clark Jr. from Selma.
