The Regular Veterans' Women's Association No.10 held a meeting Friday evening July 23 at Danla hall. Guest speaker was Mrs. Lewis Alley of Seu Francisco, past nations? élinpla tie.
Mrs Zora Hinchtag was installed as president of Hayward parlor Native Daughters of the Galton West for the coming year. Ann Lewis deputy grand president from AL Ceresa parlor installed the officers at Dania hall. Plans were made for the group to host one night at Hospitality Haven with refreshments served by the committee including Ann Harder Mildred Schilling and Mae Gomes.
Huis Vejby president of the Hayward Lions writes from Cleveland where he attended the Lions Club International meeting and notes a lively session with casual remarks about Hayward. G.M. Mothers Club meets Thursday at the church with The Young Maellers sewing for the bazaar and serving refreshments. Visitors Miss Anny Ormich of Hayward recently called on Ben Lovend.
The Women's Society of Christian Service met at the church on Thursday with a Bible study at 11 am and lunch at noon served by the Cherryland circle. Circles set plans for August meetings including Everready, Cherryland, Eastside, Sunset, and Junior circles hosting events at the church or members' homes.
The Woman's Council of the Christian church met Thursday July 28 at the church. A luncheon was served by the committee and after the regular business the afternoon was spent quilting.
In Sacramento at the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament Miss Barbara Mar Pibbins married Liqur on July 7. After the ceremony the newlyweds departed for their honeymoon while the bridegroom is noted as serving with the Wayward Army Air Field.
The Women’s Auxiliary Veterans of Foreign Wars No 1884 met at the Qe Memorial building on Thursday evening the 22nd with president Mrs Aydithamar presiding. Mrs Flor eme Chandler spoke on convention topics and Mrs uth Pomeroy chaired the Hospitality House committee planning monthly duties led by Mrs Louise Insley.
An American Legion Auxiliary meeting was held July 1 with attendees Mr Hie Toner Mr Flor entve Parte and Mrs Ethel Mc Pongal. The next auxiliary gathering is scheduled for August 8 at the Memorial I building with plans to be laid for holiday events.
Mrs J R Peterson of S14 Sota street is spending the week at Hobors’s Vacation Lake with her son Wing and daughters Dora Thy Prisella and Suzanne Sirin, enjoying a holiday away from home.
The Hermann Sons and Sisters held a joint business meeting Friday evening at the I. D. EB. 8. hall Jase. A whist party followed with honors awarded to Pimentel, Avohu, Goulden, Schroeder, Cato, Tubel, Nexel, Reim, Abe, and Bruhn.
Barbara Ross became the bride of Raymond W. Milner of Oakland in a Sunday afternoon Methodist church ceremony officiated by Rev. John Winksey. A wedding supper followed at the Bylde home. The couple plans to reside in Michigan after a trip via Chicago en route to their August move.
Hayward Business and Professional Women's Club hosts a nightly vaudeville and dancing program at Fay Hospitality Hall for service personnel. Helen Motzka plans a floor show with a singer, magician, and novelty acts. Hapose and his Club Orchestra provide dance music. Mrs Eulalia Anderson names Miss Klair Thorndyke as general chairwoman. Authors include Miss Alice Hay and Mrs Carola Kelly assisting with tables and refreshments.
Mrs Marjorie Dick has denied her engagement to Ken Bigelow of Oakland. Dick resides at 348 Simon Street. The couple planned to wed in Ketcher and intend to make their home in Oakbend.
Edward Kady celebrated his 1th birthday Wednesday July 31 with a party at the home of his parents Mr and Mrs Fred Kady. Races and contests were held with honors awarded to Jacqueling Alves Lucille Alves Joe Tingo and Dour wld Alves.
Members of the Young Lati entite held a picnic Sunday at the Paxloto ranch on Nies road. Baseball and games provided entertainment with attendees including Alberta and Veronica Paxloto, several Mrs. Degler and Whitlock families, and numerous Misses O Laughlin Ojeda Brougham Perry.
Miss Allis Tony Adeling Trayer, of Oakland, became the bride of Frank Mugene Simpson of this city at the Lille Chapel of the Flowers in Berkeley on Saturday evening. The bridal party included Miss Trayer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Trayer of Oregon, with the groom’s parents Mr. and Mrs. Marke Simpson of Hayward. About seventy five guests attended the ceremony and a reception followed at the bride’s home at Lakeshore Drive, Oakland.

Charles Robert to Mrs Charles Joseph at 42203 Point Man Oakland born July 22, weight 6 pounds. John Owen Jr born July 22 to Mr and Mrs John Finck of 614 Third Street, weight 10 ounces. Bernine Mary born July 4 to Mr and Mrs Paul Hendrix at 457 Highland Boulevard, weight 8 pounds 15 ounces. Didune Ma born July 4 to Artie Lew at 1h Jackson Street, weight 7 pounds 1 1/2 ounces. Mr and Mrs Mike Marra relocate from Castro Valley to 4910 Forsyde Boulevard Alameda to shorten commute for work at Alameda Air Force base. Their daughter Doris, 19, graduates from Maywood Union High School and attended Casivs Valet for grammar school. Don Morrow moves from Hayward to Alameda.
