Bob Seaver of the Juvenile Rocks and Minerals Club found a complete antelope fossil set, including horns and skull cap. Fifteen Die as Army Aircraft Crashes Into Trailer Camp
A two motor Army training bomber crashed into a war workers trailer camp in South Portland Maine killing 15 people and injuring many others. Eight adults and three children were recovered from the ruins while four others including two children died later. An electrical storm hampered rescue efforts. Among the identified dead were Lt Philip Russell of South Portland Edward Alfred Gerrish of Orono and George Robertson a child. Maina General Hospital in Portland reported 22 admissions with several in critical condition.
