Hayward opens a supervised summer playground at Bret Harte grounds run by J Bounds Christian with cooperation from the Elementary School Board and City Council. About 20 boys, aged six to 16, attend daily from 9 to 5 with new handball courts and equipment upgrades. Chief Louis Silva will send street bars to the site for healthy recreation.

Lions Plan Airport Visit After Dinner at Oakland
