Harvardites and many American Legion members gathered for a old fashioned Fourth of July at Half Moon Bay. The program featured 3 per ade led by American Legion posts from Hayward and San Mateo, the Harvard band, floats and other county fair style frolics. A noon barbecue fed the crowd before beach visits and greased pig and pole contests. Harvard Legionnaires announced a need for 30 more candidates to reach 180 and planned a July 18 meeting to nominate delegates to the San Diego state convention.
