Freeman Named 1929 President of Hayward Chamber
Freeman Castro Valley countryman was elected president of the Hayward Chamber of Commerce for 1925 at the first board meeting held at the chamber headquarters Tuesday night. He won over three candidates, D. R. Galbraith, Hans Henninesen and T. G. Hodkins. Galbraith named vice president, J. Harder Jr. reelected secretary-manager. Committees will be named to handle celebration of the Hayward-San Mateo bridge opening and the Alameda County Farm Products show, plus a community banquet inviting civic and professional groups. The board also passed a resolution opposing the proposed county unit plan of school administration and plans monthly meetings this year.
