Rowenaey Hebyard Eden native Clawiter resigns from the Eden Towaahty County Water board after one year as chairman. He announced Friday the move amid local water concerns and community leadership changes.

Three people were injured Thursday night in a two-vehicle crash at Sycamore avenue and Niles road. Rumaldo Torres, 44, of Niles, turned left into Sycamore and collided with Fiorence M. Ring, 42, of Oakland. Torres, Ring, and Torres' 11-year-old son Richard were treated at Harvard Hospital for multiple injuries. Patrol Officers George I Barton and W J Alver investigated the accident.

Peter Anders, the confessed kidnapper of Charles Ross, attempted to flee Friday amid a police inquiry. J Ed Kar Maover of the Peterst Hiren of Investigation said details described a last escape effort. Authorities also tied Anders to other kidnappings and potential involvement in crimes with victims including Olivia Bureia of Lane Geneva, Wis. and Charles Ross, 72, of Chicago, with bodies recovered and ongoing probe into further charges.
LIVERMORE. The Phoebe A Hearst council of Parent-Teacher associations met at Livermore grammar school to discuss a proposed junior college for Southern Alameda County. Oscar B. Paulsen spoke on the topic and a nominating committee was elected. No action was taken yet. Plans for future radio and theatre programs, and a Founder's Day event at Pleasanton grammar school were announced.
