Mrs Prioste Pleads Guilty In Army Deserter Case
Mary Elizabeth Prioste, 27, of Hayward, pleaded guilty in federal court in San Preay yesterday to hiding an army deserter in her home and refusing to report him to military police. The defendant, who obtained a divorce from her army corporal husband the day she was indicted, said the deserter Pvt. Herbert E. Williams, 23, had threatened to kill her if she alerted authorities. Sheriff's deputies and military police raided her home at 17200 Rogerio Street last October to arrest Williams.
