Rainfall Lifts Farmers as Rainfall Reaches Area Total
Rainfall of sixty seven hundredths of an inch fell over 24 hours ending Thursday morning easing drought fears from a week of heat. The high school weather station shows the season total at 9.63 inches about half the yearly average. By this date the year’s total precipitation sits around 70 percent of normal.
Seven Guardsmen Receive State Medals for Attendance

S L Mead of San Leandro sustained head cuts in a Wednesday night crash near Altamont. He was treated at Central hospital and sent home. He was driving with owner Harry Van Vieck when another car forced them off the road, causing a skid toward an embankment to avoid railroad tracks. Policeman F B Matabee filed the report.
