Convict Helms Captured After Two Hour Gun Battle
Elmer Jack Helms a former Folsom inmate was shot and captured after a two hour siege at Pittsburg waterworks. He detained Robert Hecke and Andrew Young, threatened to kill them, and fired on Hecke as deputies used gas bombs and shotguns to end the standoff.
