Melone to San Quentin in Kiely burglary case
Melone, 27, and two merchant seamen, Balenzuela and Dugger, were sentenced to not less than five years for first degree burglary and one to ten years for grand theft in the burglary of Mrs Dorothia Heller Kok’s home. The trio faced concurrent terms totaling at least five years. Authorities said Mrs Kole plotted the theft with the defendants. she denied the accusation and no action was contemplated by San Mateo authorities.

OPA Nets $2500 In Drives In Santa Cruz and San Jose
The Price Administration compliance drives in Santa Cruz and San Jose have netted more than $2500 in small claims settlements from prize violators. The OPA said the actions involve triple damages for overcharges and have recovered $1500 for the government from about one third of violators, to be acted on by the Santa Cruz War Price and Rationing Board. Greyhound Bus Crash Injures 31 Near Bakersfield
