Chester Winans, Civil War veteran, was honored Sunday at services held by the Eucalyptus lodge of Masers and the G A R at the Borensen Brothers chapel. Burial followed at Lone Tree cemetery. Pallbearers were six members of veterans groups. He died at his daughter’s home in Fruitvale Wednesday night, aged 32, after long residence at 1299 Batreet. Survived by another daughter, a son, and several grandchildren. He worked as an engineer for the Margusite railway during the war era.
