Fire at the Pergola, the famous Dublin canyon restaurant run by C. W. White, destroyed the cook house and sparked explosions that blew off the roof. The massive 60 by 80 foot frame building burned by 8 am with losses estimated at 35 000 to 50 000 dollars. The Japanese cook fled as flames spread and water mains failed.
