A San Francisco family traveling to Yosemite for Labor Day suffered four injuries and two deaths when a sedan plunged 300 feet off a embankment in Altamont Pass at 4 am. David W. Ashworth, 46, was killed. his daughter Gwendolyn Ashworth, 19, died. Mrs Lorena G. Ashworth, 44, driver, remained hospitalized in serious condition with injuries to her daughter Erva McMenony, 21, and Edwin C. McMenony, 21, both treated for minor injuries.
