The Hayward Elementary School district trustees rejected a state offer of 12330 for a parcel of land at the Markham school site, saying the amount was inadequate and did not cover property damage. Eight American airmen held since the Tokyo raid in 1942 arrived from a Peiping prison camp. Among them are Lt. Robert Lute, Lt. Chase J. Nielsen, and Cpl. Jacob Deshazey. They were weakened on arrival and will head for the United States tomorrow. All had faced death sentences from Japan, later commuted to life imprisonment.
