Final plans considered for 49 veterans housing units in city
The Wayward Housing Authority will review final phases of the 49 unit veterans housing project on A Street near the municipal airport tomorrow night. Ed Friedrichs, chair, says contract costs for roads facilities architects and engineers will be set and the plan forwarded to state authorities for expedited building. A faction related to removal of present buildings is expected this week.

Separate Collisions Kill Men in Alameda County
Southern Alameda County’s death toll rose to 27 after two separate auto pedestrian collisions Saturday night. Joseph Hush, 65, was killed on 745 p.m. when struck in traffic by a car driven by Edward Middleton, who said the victim suddenly appeared in the roadway. Middleton’s car collided with a second vehicle driven by Anton Jensen. A second victim, Stanislaus Cutlere, about 60, died shortly after being struck by a car driven by Joe Pron of San Leandro. Pron swerved to avoid the pedestrian but could not avert the impact. Judith Ellen Yaris, seven, daughter of George and Mrs Davis of Oakland, escaped injury. Authorities noted none of the drivers were held.

Mexican National Beaten To Death In Decoto
