Hayward mother commits suicide over mental decline
Mrs Marcella Bowles 32 a Hayward mother hanged herself in her home at 20941 Locust Street after months of illness and depression tied to the birth of her child Cherie Dann. She left a note to husband Robert Bowles 44 and named Cherie and her rings and ballet lessons for the child. Bowles found the body Saturday after being sent to visit her parents in San Francisco for the night. She reportedly suffered eye blindness and recent hospital care, with survivors including her husband two sisters Mrs Vern Zohn and Peggy Van Voris of San Francisco and Cherie Dann who lived with Bowles parents. Her funeral arrangements will be in San Francisco with Anderson parlors.

Five hurt in weekend automobile accidents in Alameda County
Five people were injured in several weekend crashes in southern Alameda County.
