Classified notices advertise a 30 day course in modeling for five dollars and list multiple farming and poultry items in Hayward and Oakland. Entries include hatcheries in Hayward, chicken ranches near town, four incubators for sale, farm and pasture land for sale near Pleasanton, and a notice disavowing debt.
Reverend Josiah Daniel presents a sermon at the Presbyterian church on Sunday morning exploring why science and religion clash and what if each text book were studied by the other. The service starts at noon with a special choir selection. Sunday school meets at 9 43 and Christian Endeavor at 7 00 p m.
The Christian Science First Church of Christ Scientist at 1122 B Street announces Sunday services at 11 a.m. and a Sunday school for seniors at 14? a.m. on August 9, 1925. Spirit testimony meetings are held Wednesdays at 3 o'clock. The reading room at 1122 B Street is open daily from 11:45 a.m. to 3 p.m., except Sundays and holidays, and all are invited to attend and visit.
The Castro Valley Improvement and Social Club met with a large turnout to promote the annual whist party set for November 26th a Friday night. A community picnic prize will reward the town with the largest attendance and the start from A and Main Street is scheduled for 9 30. The Jorgensen surprise party hosted by their daughters occurred last Saturday evening.
August events include Eden Township picnic at Idiewood Park Niles Canyon hosted by Consolidated Improvement Clubs. Cypress Camp Woodmen of the World and Palma Circle host Woodman basket picnic at Fernbrook Park Nudes Canyon. Laurel Park Hayward hosts Eagle picnic August 23. September features Diamond Jubilee parade section by Native Sons of the Golden West Eden Parlor.
