He was the ninety ninth man drawn from Pemiscot county and waived exemption after a good physical and was accepted. Oates was manager of Arkansas Grocery Company's Hayti wholesale house transferred from Blytheville January 1. Mrs Oates visits Cape Girardeau to see her mother Elizabeth Allen and will return to Hayti then Blytheville to work for the company until her husband returns.
