The case traces dedication of the square in Gayoso City history and cites prior judgments favoring Hayti, with ongoing appeals to the state supreme court.

County officials audit shows large shortages in funds

The Campbell Citizen reports that county auditors have not finished their findings except for Tom Douglass, showing an 11 4045 deficit under his administration. Rumors claim other officials are behind in 2500 to 7500 dollar ranges, with total shortages reaching thousands. The paper plans to publish the full report when released. It notes the infant of J. M. Lewis died suddenly, burials at Dowd cemetery, and recalls the train birth weighed 22 ounces. Portageville lost 40 to 10 to Hayti in basketball, with Atlee Jackson and Myrtle Murphy mentioned in local notes, and visits by Mr. and Mrs. Wim. Gann of Concord for health reasons.
