Train brakeman injured in Holland door accident
Guy Barbee a local trains breakman suffered a severe accident Tuesday while closing a car door at Holland. His hand was caught, one finger severed and others badly lacerated. He was taken to Frisco Hospital in St. Louis that night.

Million Dollars in Bonds Issued by Drainage District
In St Louis on January 5 state auditor George H Hackman signed twelve thousand bonds totaling one million dollars for the Little River Drainage District. Cape Girardeau president J H Himmelberger also signed each bond. Hackman drilled through 600 bonds Friday and finished the rest Saturday morning after resting his hand from writers cramp. New Railroad Reopens Old Line In New Madrid County
Reliable sources report the Old Line railroad from Tallapoosa to Deering, discontinued years ago, will resume traffic. Trestle timber contract awarded, willows along the right of way to be cut, rails relaid. The old dump remains sound, with minor washouts.
