Mr Jd M Cavle and prominent Micola area farmers are petitioning for a new school district covering the Micola to Brugesidado area and parts of Gibson. The district would be small and hopes adjoining districts sign the petition. The visitation of the new district is listed as 2b 100.00. Steele News.
A lengthy facsimile letter exposes party bias and alleged ballot secrecy issues in the Hayti Herald. The document questions Democratic leverage, Blue Book listings, and editor Merlacey and Secretary Roach actions while defending open party loyalty and promising to disclose voting records from 1906 if useful to the party.
An exchange mocks claims about press influence. Till taunts the Democrat editor, offering a fake prize while accusing the paper of falsifying politics in the state Blue Book and dodging the central issue.
J L Dorris store and J N Lewis saloon were broken into Friday night, panels cut from back doors. About $100 taken from the store and $14.70 from the saloon. No other items disturbed. Suspect believed to be familiar with the premises.
A casual dinner scene ends with a playful boast as one guest refuses extra pork and beans yet jokes about taking another plate. A child exclaims Ma's won, betting someone would cut off a hog rather than concede.
