Many New Members for Chamber of Commerce
The Hayti Chamber of Commerce held its second meeting with about 50 attendees. A canvassing committee was formed to recruit new members and several new members were admitted. Ministers and school teachers will join as salaried members. A By-laws committee was named and a Woman's Civic League was proposed to work with the chamber.

Mrs Mitchell plans a three story brick hotel on the east side of her current location in Hayti with brick walls, steam heat, running water and baths. Architect A M Van Cleve of Camthersville is drawing the plans. The project aims to meet growing travel demand and provide modern accommodations in Hayti.

Time flies in mule swindle tale from Alabama
In February two Alabama men traded mules with one describing his as seven years old and well performing. By June the other man learned the animal was twelve years old and confronted the swindler. The counter replies that time indeed flies as the men discuss the fraud. Buckley promotes garden seed onion sets and seed Irish potatoes.
