Runaway Horse Injures I E Ray in Hilo
In Hilo last Wednesday I E Ray and Mrs Ray were riding when the horse bolted after entering a School Street residence. Mr Ray, with a foot on the step, was thrown and dragged a distance to the ground. Mrs Ray remained unhurt and stopped the runaway. R J Auerbach and family plan to move to Honolulu, leaving W C Peacock & Co. Mr Auerbach will join a new firm in their main house. Captain K St Clair is named assistant master to replace Captain A A Rosehill who resigned after sixteen years on the Inter Island service.

Pioneer Mill contracts electric pumping plant at Lahaina
Pioneer Mill Company awards the contract for an electric power transmission plant to drive irrigation pumps at Lahaina. Grimwood Richardson & Holloway to install a Pelton wheel and 260 hp generator, with an 18 inch pipe bringing water from Honokawa gulch to a 36 inch wheel.
