W H Rice of Lihue is expected to become the next Kauai deputy sheriff after Marshal Brown relieved Deputy Sheriff M F Prosser. Attorney General Cooper ordered the dismissal citing insubordination and sent a letter offering the post to Rice, though acceptance remains uncertain.
Rev H Kitcat has resigned as vice dean and parish priest in the Cathedral effective June 20 after fourteen years in the Islands. The move is part of Anglican Church changes following annexation to America. Kitcat plans to return to England for further work.
