Twenty Thousand A Year For Prof Maxwell

Queensland government grants Prof Maxwell of Honolulu a five year salary of 20000 per year, totaling 100000, for sugar research. The appointment, made without Parliamentary authority, is defended by Minister Chataway though questioned by Rockhampton’s Daily Record.
