A Washington Iowa message says fifty one children skating near Foster Monroe county fell through the ice and forty nine were drowned two so badly bruised and exhausted reached land to raise the alarm. Des Moines reports via Oskaloosa and Ottumwa that the What Cheer drowning of forty nine school children is believed true.
