Justice Bickerton Honored As Court Opens December Term

The Supreme Court begins its December term with a condolence motion for late Justice Richard Frederick Bickerton. Chief Justice Judd and Justices preside as bar leaders and officials praise his courtesy, honesty, and self made career from police justice to the Supreme Court bench. The court adjourns for a memorial address on the late justice.

Field Day At Kapiolani Park By Honolulu Club

The Honolulu Amateur Athletic Club plans a field day on January 17 at Kapiolani Park with a bicycle and track program. Events include one mile novice bicycle, 100 yards dash handicap, half mile bicycle handicap, high jump handicap, 440 yards dash, and several other races and events.

Sheridan and Underwood Conspiracy Cases Postponed Again

The cases of W. J. Sheridan and Dr. Frank Underwood on conspiracy charges were postponed yesterday. A.G. M. Robertson appeared for the defendants while Deputy A.G. A. W. Carter led the prosecution for the people. The defense argued improper service of complaints, prompting a delay until this morning to proceed without further delay.

Pacific Lodge Installs Officers in Festive Banquet

Pacific Lodge No. 822 A F and A M installed newly elected and appointed officers with a banquet in the Temple hall. Past Master Alexander Mackintosh presided, Worshipful Master Henry E Cooper led toasts, and 37 members and visitors enjoyed a feast of salmon oysters doves and other dishes with floral decorations and several toasts.

Celestials Arrested for Horse Cruelty in Kalihi

Lon Yet and Lon Chuck, two Celestials in the wood business, amused themselves by beating their horses unmercifully in Kalihi yesterday afternoon until police intervened and arrested them for cruelty to animals.
