Robert Hoapili Baker died at his home in Pawaa at 5:80. He served as Governor of Maui and aided King Kamehameha V as an aide de camp during tours on the Coast. He helped transport remains to Honolulu after death and was featured in an Italian artist’s statue study of Kamehameha. He was 53 at death.
The Rapid Transit Company received rails and ties aboard the St Katherine, not the Charles Moody, with the major stock of rail and steel due mid year.
