Big steel steamer overturns in Lake Huron near Port Huron

John Van Lahre a 60 year old farmer was shot and killed near Waltman Hancock Co George Watson town marshal of Lewisport is accused of the act. A witness said Van Lahre rode with a bay horse as Watson halted him and fired twice from a revolver. Watson claims self defense following prior trouble between the men and an apparent past attack on Watson.
