Sandusky July 15 A whetstone and ax said to be over 100 years old were found imbedded in the trunk of a tree known to be 116 years old by Edward Smith while cutting the tree down. Tim believed the tree was hollow near the ground and the articles were placed there for safe keeping and that the wood grew around them.

Whales Driven Ashore by Sharks at Pablo Beach
Fourteen whales, up to thirty five feet long, were driven ashore at Pablo Beach Florida by a swarm of large sharks and the receding tide left the giants stranded on the sand. The local village began cutting up the whales to extract valuables from the carcasses.
