Cave City Bank Looted By Bandits In Kentucky
Detectives pursued a Buick roadster carrying two men thought to be bank robbers who hit the People's Bank in Cave City and fled toward Glasgow. The bandits escaped with $8,500 in currency, gold, and silver, after forcing open the vault. A trail across counties led to Glasgow Junction where one bandit was identified as a known fugitive from Alabama, with possible involvement by a woman in disguise. The posse chased them through the knob country until dawn, leaving behind a lap rug and no money recovered. Separately, the Ohio County Fiscal Court met in April approving school levy and road projects, including Owensboro-Bowling Green State Aid Highway work.
