Mr L L Patterson aged 52 of Pt Pleasant died Monday at 1 am. He was unmarried and regarded as Ohio County's foremost horticulturist. Burial Tuesday afternoon at Bell Burial Grounds conducted by the Maainie Fraternity, of which he was a member.
Ahhaca New York March 00 A United States Army chief test pilot Lieut J A MacReady escaped serious injury after a plane wreck during a test flight. The craft crashed in a pling area killing the machine and leaving MacReady pinned, later found hanging head downward in the wreck with only a few bruises reported.
March 30 Hudayest Count Ste fon Hethion acting for Regent Horthy sent to Steinamanger near the Austrian border where former Emperor Charles has taken refuge after a failed bid to regain the throne. Bethlen with troops seeks to quell any civil war with Premier Teleky and Count Justus Andransy urging Charles to flee. Charles under strict guard in Steinamanger, planning to move to a neutral country, likely Spain, which offers protection. Spanish envoy Count Realedio Suareia confirms Spanish hospitality. Bishop Count Miles and other aristocrats arrested for leading the restoration plot. General Lebar at Steinamanger backs Regent Horthy.
Governor Ed win P Morrow pledged personal and state aid to tobacco growers at the Kentucky Farm Bureau Federation meeting. He backed the Tobacco Conference and anticipated cooperation from the State Department of Agriculture and the University of Kentucky College of Agriculture to extend and organize relief efforts. He urged harmony among farmers and said a sound cooperative plan should be based on experienced input though he had not decided on specifics or legislature actions.
Mrs Sarah Ann Thompson widow of R B Thompson died at her son Dick Thompson’s Horton home March 26 from acute indigestion at age 83. Funeral services were led by Rev Frank and burial followed at Behl on Monday March 28.
Rene Viviani arrived in Washington from New York welcomed by the French Embassy staff with no State Department reception. He will meet Secretary Hughes and President Harding, with a Carnegie Hall tribute planned in New York and his attendance at Cardinal Gibbons funeral in Baltimore.
Alec W. Carson, a longtime Ohio County resident, died early Monday March 28 at his home near Nocreek after a prolonged illness. He aged almost 76, with pneumonia following obstructed intestines and a weakened condition. Survived by widow, three daughters, one brother, and a son, funeral at Nocreek Church with Rev. Harper, burial at Carson Burial Grounds.
Worthington March 30 A Kentucky liquor dispute reached the Supreme Court as a special tax issue over 60 cents on holdings is challenged. The hearing centers on the legality and scope of the tax and its application to bundled holdings possibly affecting tax revenue and enforcement.
In Taylor Mines on Tuesday a hoisting rope broke while placing a tower stack, causing the funnel to fall. Foreman Thomas Mulhett sustained a badly mashed foot and workman Arthur Park suffered injuries to a leg.
Lorenzo Hamilton and Sadie Weil both of Route 6 Hartford and Ernest Ford with Ida V Westerfield Route 6 Hartford wed by County Judge Mack Cook after obtaining authority. Wallil Goff and Livale Goff of Nelson Muhlenburg County married in Judge Cook's office. this marks their second marriage together after prior divorce.

Des Moines March 20 Eugene Weeks found guilty of murder in the first degree and sentenced to death by a jury that included four women. Weeks and an accomplice were accused of killing a grocer during an attempted holdup.
University of Kentucky President Frank L. McVey and Mrs McVey escaped injury when La Grange interurban car No 115 struck McVey s auto at Spring and Payne boulevards just after ten. Mrs Horgehelner, a guest, suffered a fractured toe and was taken to St Anthony s Hospital. Doctor McVey was en route to lecture at the Woman s Club.
