New York October 21 The New York Supreme Court Justice Mitchell denied the incorporation petition for The American Association for the Advancement of Atheism. The court returned the petition to Charles Smith attorney petitioner of records. The association aimed to abolish belief in God and religion based on that belief.
Bridgewater College prepares for its first football game since 1903 as the Eagle eleven meets Luray College on the old athletic field at 3 46 PM Friday. Only one veteran has played gridiron, with expected starters including Payne Mathias Cline Glick Driver and captain Blair Myers among the line and backfield players.
Funeral services for Elder Samuel C Miller of the Church of the Brethren were held at eleven this morning at Pike Mennonite Church. Elders H I Bowman and David Bowman conducted the rites as a large crowd gathered to pay respects to the well known minister who died Tuesday night after long illness. Miller, born in Greenmount, served in Brooklyn Town Lincoln Nebraska and Munice Indiana before ordination at 25. he lived in Rockingham recently and married Mrs P R Showalter after returning here. Surviving are a daughter Mrs Francis Davenport of Roseville Illinois and a son who died in infancy. his first wife Irene Snyder died in 1908.
Port Republic High Maint defeated Timber Ridge 32 to 10, extending its winning streak to three games. Scorers and lineups include Long and Meyer Hoeffer at forwards, Sahdridge at center, Craun and C Craun at guards, Huffman as substitute, with Good and R Craun leading Port Republic B team.
