Garden Club Hosts Meetings and Flower Show Plans
Spates Garden Club met May 2 for a program by Mr R Crown and an invitation from the Frances Sale Club to present a progression Chapel during Better Homes Week. The club will host a Flower Show in June and heard a paper on the Columbine by R Ray Brown. Members displayed Columbine and Spanish peonies.

Narrow Passage School Closes After Enjoyable Evening
Special to pally News-Record Edinburg Virginia reports the Narrow Passage School closed on Friday after an entertainment for pupils led by teacher Susie Jennings. Pies were auctioned and a stringed orchestra played at intervals. A large crowd attended the event. Future visits noted from Clara Garber and Monger siblings.
