Skyline Drive Travel Shows Big Increase
Shenandoah National Park Service reports travel over Skyline Drive last weekend rose by over fifty percent from 1955. Six thousand five hundred thirty cars carried twenty two thousand three hundred eighty four passengers on Saturday and Sunday, up from four thousand three hundred nine cars and fourteen thousand seven hundred seventy seven passengers. Crowded streets in Luray and nearby towns indicate the tourist season has truly opened.
