Suspect Charged In Sunday Homicide Near Grottoes
Rockingham County deputies arrested 20 year old Pierce Delander in connection with a homicide at the 340 Quick Stop Market near Grottoes. Reeves Jr. was pronounced dead after a shots fired incident at the store. Delander faces felony second degree murder and felony firearm charges and appeared in court for a status hearing set for July 26. The investigation began around 7 15 p m when deputies and rescue crews responded to the scene following a reported dispute involving another man and a woman. The suspect vehicle was located at Sentara RMH Medical Center and Delander was arrested. His bond is set at none and he remains jailed.
