A weather forecast predicts showers today extending from Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama northeast through New England. The system indicates widespread rain moving across the region with possible gusty winds and variable temperatures as a front passes.
The extended forecast for Virginia calls for hot humid weather Saturday and Sunday with a rising chance of thunderstorms on Sunday.
