It notes hand records, overpayments, and missing notices, with recommendations for automation costing over 250000 dollars. Deputy Harris says delinquent personal property taxes are ahead of last year and a real estate campaign is planned.

Health workers investigated a sprawling gastro intestinal outbreak across two facilities in Virginia. At Central State Hospital Petersburg 16 new cases were mild. a large 314 patient outbreak earlier left one death. The Southside Virginia Training Center reported 81 mild cases. Officials suspect food or viral spread from a common kitchen unit. Tests were underway with results expected midweek.
Elon College in Elon North Carolina awarded degrees to more than 340 students at its May 23 commencement marking the 92nd ceremony and largest class in the school history. Marvin Stone editor of U S News and World Report delivered the commencement address.
Minneapolis AP Chicago received the 1982 City Livability Award from the U S Conference of Mayors for using arts and cultural programs to boost livability. Nominated cities include Baltimore Evanston Ill Rockville Md Tempe Ariz.
