Death in West Virginia railroad accident claims W. D. Ray
W. D. Ray of Rockingham County was killed June 12 in a rail line accident near Hendricks and Elkins West Virginia. He was riding a hand car when a log train struck him. He died on the road after surviving until near Elkins. He was thirty one. Surviving are two young children, his father, three brothers and two sisters. The incident left his twin babies fifteen months old. His brother was among the hand car crew. the others escaped as Ray fell and was run over by a box car.
