The National Weather Service forecasts showers across the Southeast from the Gulf Coast to Virginia today. Additional showers are expected in surrounding areas, with periods of rain likely and temperatures varying by location.
The Valley forecast calls for continued warmth with scattered showers and thunderstorms today, highs near 80. Tonight stays partly cloudy with a chance of showers, lows in the 60s, and Tuesday remains warm with a chance of afternoon storms. Also notes sunset, sunrise, moonset, a full moon, and Saturn visible near Spica in Virgo.
Virginia regulators face opposition from Prudential Bache Securities Inc., Hunton & Williams, and the state Division of Industrial Development over proposed rules governing limited partnerships. The SCC staff's plan aims to parallel federal and other states rules, but critics argue it raises burdens, potentially limiting high value projects and hurting Virginia’s business climate.
