Walter F. Brown of Toledo and General John J. Pershing joined a Washington meeting with the Republican nominee yesterday. They conveyed their views and urged consultation with progressives already invited to discuss policy directions.
Washington June 16 Plans to bring Senator Harding closer to party leaders including progressives were discussed in a conference with Walter F Brown Rigorous invitations will be sent to prominent progressives to meet Harding before his official notification after July 15. He aims to use these views in his acceptance speech. General Pershing stopped by for a brief social visit as telegrams and letters poured in after the nomination.

New York June 16. Investigation into the murder of Joseph Boone Elwell, noted sportsman and whist expert, focuses on the woman in the case. Housekeeper Marie Larsen was questioned and said she found Elwell with a bullet wound and hid items in a wash tub to protect the woman. Police seek the woman who owned the negligee and may have knowledge of the crime.
