Augusta financial outlines value engineering for school project
McAllister says the plan has not been budgeted and remains based on estimates. Value engineering will be used to cut costs while preserving structural integrity, with a goal to finish by next week. Even after trimming, he doubts costs will fall to 14 million. a half reduction would be welcome. Construction may start by July 1. Phase III covers Buffalo Gap and Riverheads high schools after completing Phases I and II since 1989.
