Death of Edgar A. Stanton Remembered at East Point Unit
Edgar Allen Poe Stanton died last Wednesday at Rockingham Memorial Hospital. The service was held Friday at East Point Unit Brethren church with Rev. Long Stearn Shaffer officiating. interment followed at East Point cemetery. Pallbearers were R. H. Shaver Y Hensley Howard McCary John Cline C. J. Dyche C. E. Jones W. L. Shipplets. Survived by many nieces and nephews. wife Florence Beeson of Mt Sinai preceded him in death. Stanton formerly lived in Emond and was a United thrown church minister for years. He had recently lived with his father and niece on Lawyer Road.

The couple left for a wedding trip to Northern cities and are praised by county friends. Also Shifflett Scott union at Pleasant Valley parsonage with Rev J W Brill and Weakley Hudlow wed at Verona United Brethren parsonage. Ruth Miller’s daughter Annie Ruth married R Douglas Nininger with home to Williamson Road after June 14.
