Plan For Park On Agenda In Harrisonburg City Council
Harrisonburg residents will unveil Plan Our Park committee’s latest proposal at tonight’s council meeting. The plan features a conceptual master plan an economic impact study and a park operation plan for a roughly 4.5 acre downtown park surrounding the Turner Pavilion near the Farmers Market at 409 South Main Street. The project has drawn prior contentious debate since 2011 as an amphitheater style space for thousands of people.

One Dead In Brooks Gap Road Crash
A West Virginia man, Delmer A. Lantz, 28, of Mathias, died in a single vehicle crash on Brooks Gap Road in the Fulks Run area Sunday afternoon. His pickup left the road, struck boulders and a tree, and he was not wearing a seat belt. Alcohol was not a factor. the cause remains under investigation. Lantz worked at Pilgrim's Pride in Timberville.
