Massanetta Springs schedules fifteen conferences this summer
Massanetta Springs opens its 35th season with the Virginia Presbyterian Young Adults session and a full slate of fifteen conferences plus a new camp for boys and girls. Ruth Campbell notes advance registrations fill all facilities. The program includes Young Adult, Pioneer Camp, Regional Youth Leadership School, Baptist Training Union, Cottage Junior Camp, Presbyterian Synod, Men’s Conference, Lutheran Assembly, Training School for Women, Bible Conference, and more. A new Camp Massanetta facility east of the hotel will operate Monday for junior youths, with capacity for 132.

Graduating Son May Have Saved Engineer's Life
F. W. Gray, an engineer on the National Limited of the Baltimore and Ohio, survived after missing a run to West Virginia when his train derailed on a boulder incident. His son Gene Gray, in Stanley High’s graduation class, was in attendance, and the near-miss is credited with sparing his life. The accident killed the engineer and fireman on the train.
