Harrisonburg City Council will hold a public hearing on a 16 unit town home project at 116 Pleasant Hill Road. Tawakkul Investments LLC seeks a special-use permit rezoning and subdivision on nearly one acre. The site sits amid single family homes and multifamily buildings and plans 82 parking spaces with a single Pleasant Hill Road entrance. Planning Commission gave unanimous approval at May advisory meeting, third consecutive endorsement for new multifamily projects.
Dayton Town Council meets tonight at 6 p.m. in the Day ton Town Hall assembly room to hear comments on a proposed 6.7 million dollar budget for the next fiscal year. The plan has no tax increases and funds a sixth police officer and a new water plant with 1.6 million for equipment and 170 thousand for engineering and a water rate study, plus a 1.5 percent cost of living adjustment and up to 2.5 percent merit pay.
