Lime Plant Closes Down At Otto Mine

The Wheel barger-Rumsey Lime Corporation the area’s largest industry has shut at Otto mine after weeks of operation. Hundreds of tons of lime remain in storage. The plant uses grey limestone and is reportedly run with farmer ownership. business is said to be good this season. many local residents are noted visiting relatives and recovering from illnesses as court and church events fill the community schedule.

Washington divorce bill sparks Arlington as "divorce mill"

Roanoke June 4 revenue freight car loadings of the Norfolk and Western railway rose to 21 523 for the week ending June 1, an increase of 317 over the prior week and 626 over the same week last year. Cars received from connecting lines last week totaled 3 760.
