William Rush Dead in Woodstock Area

William Milton Rush, a wealthy farmer near Woodstock, died at his riverfront home at 11 20 this morning after a month of declining health. He was sixty two, last of his family, with a brother Charles Rush previously deceased. His wife died in a runaway accident about thirty years ago. Surviving relatives include three nephews Frank Mark and Ben Rush and two nieces Mrs George Bower of Woodstock and Mrs Ray Ghant of Boyce Clarke County. Funeral services set for Friday.

President Lincoln Sunk by Torpedo in Atlantic Run

Washington May 431 Admiral Simms reports the transport President Lincoln was torpedoed and sunk while returning from Europe. The vessel went down at ten o'clock in the morning. No casualties were mentioned in the dispatch.
